Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Built on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the far east with the west in an excellent game for early level gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player versus the croupier, unlike nearly all other poker games that players compete with other players. By gambling against the dealer, beginner players don't have to be concerned about other, more advanced individuals taking their cash.

One more Pai Gow benefit is the generally slow game pace, novices should be able to take their time and strategize while not having to make hasty decisions.

It's also simpler to gamble on for a long time with only a small bit of cash since, to not win, both of your hands must be lower than each of the dealer's hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The gambler is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the croupier is given 7 cards faces hidden.

One five card hand and one 2 card hand must be put together from the 7 cards, the five card hand has to be stronger than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino's.
