Poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in fact a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the earliest poker game have been developed, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the house rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the croupier declares "No more bets." At that point, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers receive five cards. Once you have observed your hand and the bank's first card, you need to either make a call bet or surrender. The call bet's value is on same level to your beginning wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your bet goes instantaneously to the bank. After the wager is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with a figure on par with the initial bet. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the bank's hand. The casino pays out chips even with your ante and controlled expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
