Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most complex but popular poker games. It is a variation that, even more than normal Omaha poker, invites action from all levels of players. This is the chief reason why a once irrelevant variation, has expanded in acceptance so quickly.

Omaha/8 starts like a regular game of Omaha. 4 cards are dealt to each player. A sequence of betting follows where players can bet, check, or drop out. A low hand is the worst hand that might be put together, with the lowest value being A-2-3-4-5. Considering that straights and flushes don't count, A-2-3-4-5 is the lowest value hand possible. The low hand is any 5 card hand (unpaired) with an 8 and below. The low hand takes half of the pot, as just like the high hand. When there's no low hand presented, the higher hand wins the whole pot.

While it seems difficult at first, after a few hands you will be able to pick up on the fundamental nuances of the game with ease.
