Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with twenty-one than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the bank rather than each other. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with a figure on par with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the casino's hand. The casino pays out money equal to your original bet and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:

• four to one for a straight
• five to one for a flush
• 7-1 for a full house
• 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
• 50-1 for a straight flush
• one hundred to one for a royal flush
